Supportive Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy, or “talk therapy”, is a way to treat people with a mental disorder by helping them understand their illness. It teaches people strategies and gives them tools to deal with stress and unhealthy thoughts and behaviors. Psychotherapy helps patients manage their symptoms better to function at their best in everyday life.
Sometimes psychotherapy alone may be the best treatment for a person, depending on the illness and its severity. Other times, psychotherapy is combined with medications. Therapists work with an individual or families to devise an appropriate treatment plan. In addition to helping with major psychiatric illness, therapy is also helpful in treating anger management, improving coping skills, increasing self-esteem, self-regulation, assisting with addiction as motivational interviews and relapse prevention. Our providers use are trained in various techniques of therapy including but not limited to Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Interpersonal therapy (IPT), Family-focused therapy (FFT), Play therapy, Motivational enhancement to name few.

Individual therapy
Our well trained and compassionate clinicians offer Individual therapy to our clients. Our clinicians work with clients one-on-one in a ‘safe, caring, and confidential environment to explore their feelings, beliefs, behaviors and actions. Treatment includes working through challenging or influential past experiences, to identify aspects of their lives in order to understand themselves and others better and set personal goals in working toward a desired emotional or lifestyle change.
Group therapy
Mighty Behavioral offers a range of specialized group therapy sessions to clients. Group sessions (7-10 people) are led by providers who are skilled in psychotherapy or psychology. Group members are encouraged to share their experiences with the fellow group members and participants. Group therapy allows individuals to share their experiences, strengths, hope and success stories in a supportive environment with others experiencing similar situations. Group therapy provides an environment where client’s can learn not only from the therapist but also from fellow group members. It gives hope, strength, and support to client’s in that they are not along and are not the only one suffering. Clients can find comfort, encouragement, and support to overcome the issues they may face daily in an environment where divulged personal information is kept confidential.
Couple therapy
We provide therapy to couples as a means of resolving problems and conflicts that they have not been able to handle effectively on their own. Treatment involves both partners sitting down together in the session with a trained clinician to discuss their thoughts and feelings about their relationship. The goal of this therapy is to understand each other’s perspective and gain a better understanding of themselves and their partner, and help them in making a constructive change in their relationship and achieving a positive resolution.
Family therapy
We provide family therapy counseling (psychotherapy) in a setting where a clinician helps family members improve communication, and understanding of each other and resolve conflicts. Counseling may include all family members or just those who are able or willing to participate. Our specific treatment plan depends on the client’s specific family situation. Family therapy sessions can teach the client skills to deepen family connections and to work together through stressful times, or events even after the client is finished attending therapy sessions.
Play therapy
Play therapy helps children communicate their thoughts and feelings through play more naturally than they do through verbal communication. As the child plays, a clinician begins to recognize themes and patterns or ways of using toys, arts and crafts, or other materials that are important to the child. Over time the provider helps the child begin to make meaningful progress in utilizing the play experience to achieve positive results.
